Biscornus are wondeful little items that are fun to make. They can be used as pincushions or decorations. You can be creative with the finishing & they make lovely presents. They are made from a square piece of embroidery & sewn at an angle to the backing piece. When stuffed, the biscornu (wonky) shape appears. These patterns include finishing instructions.
These patterns can also be used to make box covers or needlecases.
Note : most of my biscornus are embroidered on one side with plain backing as I find it gives a nice contrast & see no point in embroidering the base which you can't see properly anyway - but of course you can embroider both sides if you prefer. Play with your finishing styles - plain, beaded, fun fur & exterior blanket stitched to provide variety.
